🍁 Fall Into Learning: Faculty Spotlight – Week 5 🍁
Blending Reflection, Data, and Design in Servant Leadership
CETLA is proud to continue celebrating GCU’s Fall Into Learning with AI challenge in collaboration with Faculty Training & Development, highlighting innovative ways faculty are integrating technology to make learning more creative, reflective, and engaging.
This week’s spotlight features Instructor Aminda Parafinik, whose Servant Leadership class used a thoughtful blend of reflection, data visualization, and AI tools to explore the connection between values, character, and ethics.
Students began by completing a Core Values Survey to identify what truly guides their actions and decisions. Aminda then compiled the results to spark meaningful class discussions on how individual and collective values shape leadership and service.
To bring the data to life, she used ChatGPT to perform a word count on the survey responses and create a spreadsheet, which she then uploaded to Perplexity with this creative prompt:
Hello! Based on the spreadsheet attached, can you please create a word cloud visual representation of the word count frequency? Can you please incorporate fonts, colors, and shapes that give it a fall seasonal vibe?
The result was a beautiful, fall-inspired word cloud that visually captured the class’s shared values, a perfect conversation starter for exploring leadership in action.
🍂 Aminda’s approach demonstrates how AI tools can enhance learning through creativity and reflection, turning data into meaningful dialogue and visual storytelling.
