College of Education: AI Tools & Innovation
At Grand Canyon University, the College of Education (COE) is finding creative ways to equip students with hands-on use of AI tools.
AI Practicum & Field Placement Tile (Mosaic)
The College of Education is integrating AI directly into the practicum experience through a custom Mosaic tile developed in partnership with the Office of Field Experience. This tool supports students enrolled in practicum courses by simulating placement expectations, guiding them through key teaching scenarios, and helping them prepare for hands-on learning in the field.
Aiden: AI-Driven Classroom Technology Simulations
For students in the Instructional Technology Program, the Aiden Mosaic tile offers AI-generated classroom simulations that model real-world technology challenges. Students can explore various scenarios, practice decision-making, and build confidence in navigating technology-rich environments, all within an AI-enhanced, guided experience.
LOPE Conference: AI-Focused Learning & National Collaboration
The annual L.O.P.E. Conference now includes a major emphasis on AI in teaching and learning. What began as a GCU faculty event has continued to expand, now drawing K–12 partners from across the country. The conference brings together faculty, staff, and students to explore the evolving role of AI in education, share best practices, and collaborate on next-generation innovations.
